Great food, great service and plenty of parking at this cafe close to Eldorado. Y

Our friend from Santa Fe took us before leaving for our flight home that day as she had heard good things about the food there. However this was probably one of the worst , if not the worst breakfast ever. Eggs and bacon overdone, toast burned., part of the order forgotten. How it has such a good rating is questionable.

This is one of those places that has it all. Food done right! We had the Migas, Motulenos and granola with Greek yogurt and fruit and everyone scraped their plates! The place was packed and the staff was great. I love this place!!!

I live in the immediate area (Eldorado) and there isn't much around these parts. Put the location into the equation, the food could be said to be 5 star. Drive father into town with more options, Fina is really 4 star which ain't bad! The food is good, not earth shattering but anything baked by the lovely women (don't know her name) is out of this world! I've tried quite a number of her offerings and this is one of the best bakeries in Santa Fe. The Meyer Lemon (Shaker) pie is to die for. The Scones are incredibly good, and when I found out the one's I tried were also Gluten free, I fell over. Here's what I do. Order my breakfast (which again is solid but not Counter Culture), order that Lemon pie and eat it while you wait for breakfast to come. Dessert before breakfast, so fun. Anyway, the deserts and the desert chef at Fina is the star and alone deserves 5+ stars.

An unassuming little cafe parked at the top of the T intersection of Hwy 285 and Old Las Vegas Highway, just a block off the Clines Corners exit off I-25, you cannot go wrong here. Gluten free? They have it. Vegetarian? Check. Pastries and great coffee? Right-o. Drive-up window if you're in a rush? But of course! But those are just the accessories. "Cloud cakes" (pancakes), motuleños, or migas for breakfast; fish sandwich, chopped salad with chicken for lunch; quiche, ginger cookies, croissants (traditional or chocolate) any time. I've had each of these, and nothing was less than superior. The setup is a little quirky: order and pay at the counter, grab your silverware and napkin and water, and go grab a seat. The food will be brought to you, along with refills of your drinks. They have a lovely outdoor seating area when the weather is nice. GREAT place, and active members of their community as well.

As good as it gets! We ate here almost every day while working in the area and the food satisfied every palette from vegans to omnivores. I recommend the chicken sandwich and Reuben highly. Excellent cookies, coffee, and desserts as well!

Awesome burger. Fantastic smoked bacon, ciabatta hard roll for bun. I like hot green chile, but this one did it, very tasty. I don't know what kind of beef they use but it tastes fantastic, very lean. Real home fries. The whole thing worth every penny. I also had a lemon bar that had toasted pinon nuts in the crust, crazy delicious. Coffee was excellent as well. Nice patio, I could bring in my dog which was a bonus. They should put up a sign before the Eldorado exits for the freeway travellers, since its right there.

The food is fine and the staff busy but the place reeks of BO and the chairs are beat. If you don't know the drill: when your meal arrives it's your responsibility to have found the flatware, napkins, s&p, etc.

There aren't many places that impress me before I eat. Cafe Fina impressed me upon entry and that was just the beginning. The decor is modern and inviting with a hip feel. It was packed - a very good sign. I ordered the huevos motulenos and a lemon custard tart. Both the definition of perfect food prepared with care and fresh ingredients. I'm going back tomorrow because the food, atmosphere, friendliness, and amazing menu.

This place is newly open Fri-Sun nights for dinner. We live nearby and gave it a try tonight after a 4 chile review in the local paper. Initially we were disappointed because we didn't find out until the rest of the food was served that they had run out of the night's special. (The person who takes your order at the counter is apparently not "up to speed" on what is happening in the kitchen.) However, the replacement meal (mushroom/spinach lasagna) was yummy and we'd get it again. The staff was very aware of our disappointment that the special had run out and served two complimentary treats, which was very nice. The food here is quite good; not an extensive menu, will hopefully enlarge a bit once they have built up their night clientele, and they will soon have a beer/wine license. It is definitely worth a try. One suggestion: if it is cold, don't sit at the 4 top directly in front of the door. If they are going to be open at night, they need to hang an additional door and create an air lock, because every time someone goes in or out, cold air rushes in.

Went there for the first time today and my wife and I really enjoyed it. Very nice staff and the food was excellent. They were also great with my wife's dairy allergy. As we are looking to move into the area, we will be back!

Completely over-rated and amazingly expensive for mediocre fare...$43 for a simple breakfast for two! Let me elaborate. The "cloud cakes" were anything but cloud-like. Heavy, doughy and tasteless without sufficient syrup to make them edible. The bacon side order was over-priced and so over-cooked it crumbled on the plate while the $6.50 glass of watermelon-grapefruit juice tasted like neither. Bland beyond recognition. For $20 less, you can score a much better breakfast at Flying Star. Not as hip as Cafe Fina but hugely better value. Of course, if you think Portlandia is "reality" and not sketch comedy, you would love this place... Did I mention the slow service? Twenty minutes after ordering, the food finally arrived.

Great new place in Santa fe. I had the fish sandwich battered in Panko that was delicious. My only issue was that I wanted more tarter sauce and they forgot to bring it to me. There were 12 of us there and everyone liked their food. Service was not the fastest but very nice.

Wonderful place, GREAT coffee, wonderful baked goods. Annamaria is a GREAT cook! Love the atmosphere, good wait staff. CLEAN ~ They have it all ~ Cloud Cakes UM YUM! Always fresh and delicious.

Got there right when opening. Ordered the breakfast burrito to go and to my surprise was absolutely delicious! Service was fast and was in and out of there in under 10 minutes. Will definitely be making La Fina a destination stop when I come back to The Santa Fe Area!!

Most restaurants in and around Sante Fe are abit pretentious, overrated or both. Cafe Fina - which is about 15 minutes from Sante Fe on Old Las Vegas Highway - is neither. Cafe Fina is in a class of it's own. This place is a gem. It could even be a cult - it's so good that the locals are keeping it quiet :) Calming and interesting decor, uber hip staff in vibrant tie dye T shirts with thought provoking logos about NM floating around in a culinary paradise. Because the food here is simply incredible - the breakfast burritos are the best I've ever tasted. In fact I don't think I'm able to eat one anywhere else again- it would just be too disappointing. Not many places out there can deliver food of this quality and distinction. They use organic eggs and chicken. The complexity and depth of textures and flavours are a strong indication that a seriously talented chef/cook/visionary/alchemist lurking in the kitchen breathes, knows, and understands good food. The cuppuccinos are strong and sublime and the macaroons mouth watering. They offer a wonderful patisserie selection too. South West cuisine and Mexican food will never be the same again. After experiencing Cafe Fina, the 4 hour drive from where we live just to eat a meal there is worth it. It's a monthly sojourn because this place is unique. Be forewarned- you will experience withdrawal symptoms from the food and eating out will never the same again. There are not many places around these days that approach food in such an understated and creative way. I'm going to buy the tie dye T and join the Cafe Fina cult...

30 mins or so north of town this place is a great find! Fresh, delicious fare, the menu offers something for everyone at fare prices. Generous portions too! Recently opened for dinner, we can't wait to go back now having had lunch there twice. The staff is friendly & knowledgeable. And the baked good are off the charts! Save room for desert.

I wish every town had a place just like this! It was a lucky stop off the highway for us, and I'm so glad we did. The food was fantastic, the place was clean, and the staff was wonderful. If I lived here they would all know me by name because I would be a piece of furniture in this restaurant.

I'll absolutely be coming back here to grab food / coffee and get some work done. It's a lovely, well-run space with tasty eats, friendly staff, and a relaxed feel. I especially recommend the Cloud Cakes. They're heavenly!

This place made for a perfect breakfast, before heading into downtown Santa Fe. The space is well laid out, and doubles as a gallery, displaying beautiful pieces of art on the muted toned walls and museum track lighting. The Organic Coffee and Mexican Mocha warmed us right up, after coming in from a bitter cold and wet rain. There was a savory bread pudding on display that looked like the cats meow. It was a dough pie filled with ham, grilled onions, spinach, mushroom and white cheddar. I however am partial to quiche and their spinach and caramelized onion quiche had my name on it. My fella ordered the El Dorado omelet, and he made the comment "that was probably one of the best omelets I've ever had" It was a solid breakfast, complete with great service and ambiance. We then ordered some pastries to go. Mexican wedding cookie, chocolate peanut butter cookie and spiced gingerbread squares.

I am traveling alone and staying up the road a couple miles so I dropped in here for a quick dinner. Oh my I'm so glad I did. The potato poblano soup was delicious. The marinated zucchini divine. Salmon tacos were perfect. And everything plated beautifully. From the outside it looks like a small Cafe and when you order you get a number and seat yourself. But don't let that fool you! This place you can't miss!

  • E J.

Chicken sandwich is delish! Mixture of bacon cheese and cooked onions on a Sage Bakery sourdough toasted on the grill. Genius. Green chili cheeseburger was also delicious. Fresh ground beef cooked to the way you eat your burger. No hype just good food.

As a girl who grew up on Mexican food that was too embarrassing to try to pronounce and explain to my friends, I felt right at home at Cafe Fina! Migas and Huevos Motulenos were on the menu! I haven't heard these words outside of my family kitchen! I had the migas, and they were great! The sauce was lighter and more tomatoe-y that my momma makes, but still good. I also had a fabulous carrot, orange and ginger juice and a slice of their sour cream coffee cake to-go. The coffee cake was so incredibly delicious and moist and generously packed with pecans on top. My girlfriends all raved about the house made granola and the pesto omelette. Like they wouldn't shut up about it. On top of the fabulous food and inviting yet casual atmosphere, the service was also wonderful! From the gal that took our order, to the gentleman that delivered it to the VERY enthusiastic man that cleared our plates, EVERYONE was top notch! The location is a little outside of the city, but I still highly recommend Cafe Fina if you are in Santa Fe!

Great food! Served by people that are passionate about quality. Everything on the menu that I have tried has been great. Breakfast or lunch, they do it all right!

Cafe Fina serves as an excellent example of how a restaurant should be run. It is managed very well and the staff always present themselves with excellent customer service skills. The breakfast burrito, as far as my wife and I are concerned, is the best in Santa Fe. However, the green Chile cheeseburger, make sure to add the bacon(for $1), is my favorite thing to order.

I am not going to beat around the bush with this review I am just going to jump right in and give it the solid 5 stars that it deserves. This place is a true hidden gem and if it wasn't for my weak bladder and absolutely needing to find a rest room "right now" we would never have found this place. from the outside it really dosent look like much and again had I of not needed to use the rest room I would never have stepped inside and saw what a wonderful establishment was awaiting. The inside is light and cheerful and very clean you can tell that they hold a high standard in every possible way. We hadnt planned on eating but I picked up a menu on my way back out to the car and after seeing they had a drive thru my husband agreed we should just grab something to eat and not have to make any more stops. I ordered the green chille cheeseburger with the option of half fries/half salad for my side and my husband ordered the Rueben with fries. Within 10-15 minutes our food was in my lap steaming hot and we were once again on the road.... The food was packaged really nice in little boxes (wish i had taken a photo) and wow oh wow everything came together perfectly it wasnt one of those occasions where everything looks nice then dosent hold up to that same standard in the taste department..... the food was devine, both myself and my husband agreed that it was the best food on our mini trip to colorado springs & back. I loved all of the organic and natural options on the menu that really isnt something that you see very often...... i cant wait to return and try one of the burritos. I am so happy that my bladder led me to this place and we will certainly be back next time we are driving by.

I almost didn't review because everybody said it all. This place will not disappoint you. Matter of fact we are meeting a good friend for lunch there today. We ate there this past Monday and were there last week. The menu is not huge but we will be getting something different again today. I don't care what you get, just make sure you get the green rice on the side, if it doesn't come with it. Their juices and soups are great too. They are open in the evening now, Thursday through Saturday. If you live in Eldorado and haven't been here, you are really missing a great meal.

  • Michael N.

Don't let the low key affect of CF fool you. Order from the minimal menu and go sit in the casual space then BAM!!! They bring out some of the BEST food anywhere in Santa Fe. Local centric, forget the overrated Harry's Roadhouse and dug in. Vegan breakfast? Hell no in most places. Here, without missing a beat they offered what turned out to be the single best breakfast burritos I've ever had and I've had a LOT! Crispy hashies, grilled squash, spinach and likely a whole avocado..... Bloody hell I was in heaven. One of Santa Fe's secrets, miss it you lose. Just go.

  • Elena M.

Another wonderful meal at this place, where consistency reigns, a neat trick most restaurants can't manage to pull off! Migas ordered half & half with crispy hashbrowns and black beans were off the charts and cloud cakes were amazing. Love the counter service, which keeps things moving, and kitchen puts out food very fast. Hashbrowns are the real deal, a rarity these days. Overall perfection can be expected at this special little gem!

We had been driving through TX and NM for some time heading towards Santa Fe. The roads were horizontal, lengthy and had a monotonous view of nothing for a very VERY long time. I was so happy to start seeing hills ahead that were slowly getting larger and larger. My navigational skills were very rusty from driving straight forever. So I missed our exit onto I-25. It was an awe crap moment, so I said just pull ahead and stop while I sort out where we are. We pulled forward and I thought it was a mirage! What is this cute little place in front of us? A café, really?? Yes!! Perfect time to stop, refuel ourselves, and stretch out our bodies. This place was a gift straight from heaven for anyone in area, but especially for the traveler from the flat lands of nothing. The interior was clean, fresh with bright art work, and had many options for indoor or outdoor seating. They even had a play area for the kids. Puppies were welcome on the patio too! But I really loved the resident cat, Tiger. He was so laid back ... a real cool cat! They had great food choices with many vegetarian options. And as a side option you could pick the 1/2 & 1/2 if you wanted: 1/2 order of fries and 1/2 order of salad. We had the fried fish sandwich and tofu Reuben with the 1/2 & 1/2. Both were very nicely presented and incredibly yummy. We really enjoyed everything about this place and the employees were really great as well. The patio could use a little attention to cleanliness to keep flies at bay, but if they bother you - sit inside.

  • Charles J.

Five stars just for the Tofu Reuben!!! Been a vegetarian for years, but somehow I always want sauerkraut and thousand island dressing on rye. All of my prayers and cravings have been answered in one delicious sandwich. I might go back in for lunch tomorrow to get the exact same thing again. Sooooo good.

I go there for coffee 3 times a week. Tried almost everything there. I know this sounds useless, but really everything is good there. I especially love their pastries.

We accidentally stop to this restaurant because Google map made us turned around a couple times on the trip to ski first time in Santa Fe. I gave up driving and saw this place had a lot of cars parked all over the place. This restaurant looked like in the middle of no where. I don't think I saw any business around that area for a mile except a bike shop next door. We ordered just simple food chicken noodle soup and salad. They both were taste so good. They looked very fresh, simple and clean. Of course, they both yummy! If we go back to Santa Fe again, we would add this restaurant on the place to eat list for sure.

This cafe I well worth the short drive out of town. It has a light airy modern atmosphere and consistently fresh yummy food . Try the in house strawberry scones or the grilled chicken sandwich and salad. I also appreciate the home brewed iced tea - I hate the instant stuff

This place is a godsend for those of us in the Eldorado/ Highway 285 area. They do an amazing job and are fast and friendly. My faves are the breakfast burrito and the daily quiche. SO happy we have Cafe Fina and if we ever move into town, I will drive back this way just for their burritos.

After a hike while visiting my parents in Santa Fe, I was starving, so I stopped at Cafe Fina. I thought I grab some lunch after just having oatmeal for breakfast. It was already almost 1:30 in the afternoon. Ordered a green chili cheese burger and a drink. Paid my $14, took the drink in a big glass mug and a card with the letter "B" and Big Bird with a stand - what they use to know where to deliver the food. Sat down and pulled out the computer. Well, 55 minutes after ordering - seeing others who arrived 40 minutes after me getting served - I was just about to walk out when asked if my food ever arrived (?). No, why do you think I still have this Big Bird sign. Then a further 7 minutes I was asked what I ordered - well, did you not put it into your computer in order to know how much to charge me? A further 10 minutes and my food arrived. Ok food, nothing to write home about. One notable exception - manager brought food out, but no apology and only an offer to run get a napkin. One would maybe think that any self respecting restaurant would have done something morel. If only to avoid a negative online review. Lesson learned --- Harry's Road House is right down the road... serving better food, and they will not forget that you paid, but they did not serve you.

We have eaten at Cafe Fina a number if times since we moved to Santa Fe, it's always great. Today we had a cheeseburger with fries, it was cooked perfectly, most items on the menu is organic Couldn't ask for better service!

Love this place! I am a local and this is my go to place. There are times that I have been in Santa Fe and drove out of town just to eat here. Love the food and the friendly staff.

Wow! Amazing breakfast this morning. So far this is my favorite in Santa Fe or anywhere else. First time here and will return. The huevos motulenos made for a scrumptious meal. Everything about this place is so right. The service is great, the coffee is good the Mexican wedding cookies tasty. The restaurant is clean, spacious, light and airy.

Now they serve the most amazing dinners and wines. This would be an A+ place anywhere in the world. Dine here. Make yourself happy. Tonight had salmon "tacos" ... good enough to make one weep. I do not exaggerate.

Stopped in around 7:30 pm. I had been looking for dinner and stumbled into Cafe Fina not knowing anything about it or what to expect. Employees were courteous and quick. I ordered Green Chili stew and Hot Tea. 23.00. a little steep, but the food was exceptionally good and it was a larger portion than I could possibly eat. Tortilla was toasted nicely on the grill. They brought a big TO-GO cup of hot tea to me right before I left. Looking forward to going back again.

Had breakfast here two days in a row now and will likely come back tomorrow. Great food, very nice people and very dog friendly. Nicely shaded outdoor seating. Bocce court and play area upstairs. Great migas, breakfast burrito and other SW breakfast dishes. Also ordered the basic breakfast today and they even do the classics (2 over easy with bacon and toast) to perfection. Have a Mexican Mocha, very good and made correctly.

Amazeballz. Everything is incredibly, thoughtfully prepared. Sunshine streaming through the windows. Beautiful patio. Organic and homemade and yummy! Decor is super tasteful and bright. I wish I had found it sooner in my trip to Santa Fe!

  • Randy B.

OK, I was there for a meeting. I kept seeing these amazing dishes fly by. Finally my friend said, "let's split a dessert." She got a Meyer Lemon Tart and they threw in a piece of Strawberry Rhubarb pie. The pie is one of my faves and they nailed it and then some. The tart was absolutely one of the best desserts I've ever had...inSanta Fe, in the Us, in France, ANYWHERE !

I recently spent five days with a friend attending a horse clinic in, Lamy, in the Santa Fe area. We had rented a small house convenient to the clinic, but best of all, so convenient to Cafe Fina. Our daily pattern was set right away - early morning stop at Cafe Fina for coffee and pastries, head to the clinic down the road, zip back to Cafe Fina for a great lunch during the clinic break. It was a such a great place on so many levels, a true treat for us as we live outside of Silver City where it is pretty much of a food wasteland. Cafe Fina is casual and easy going, with no pretense, but a level of sophistication that is impressive. Everything that we tasted was beautifully presented and over the top with multiple levels of great tastes and textures. The part of our experience that made it such a complete pleasure was the wonderful staff, their eager attentiveness and pleasant nature, no matter how busy they were. I can't say enough good things things about Cafe Fina as a delightful eating place. I only wished that I lived closer so that I could eat there every day!!!

Had breakfast this morning. Ricotta pancakes with fruit and real maple syrup. Look forward to trying other items on menu. This place has a great future.

The service is wonderful. They have a tangy delicious salad dressing on an abundant mix of greens and veggies when I'm in the mood for light fare, and an awesome fish sandwich and burger when I looking to filler' up. Also the eggs come in all possibilities, including Huevos Mutalenos, which I could eat any time of day. Not to mention the sweet cakes and muffins! The ambiance is very nice. Colorful, classy and fun. I always run into friends when I'm there - it's totally my style!

Gluten free scone and omelet were delicious. Pick up silverware and water on way to table. EXcellent service: food was served hot and refills of coffee and water brought to table.

Cafe Fina shows great promise. Fresh ingredients with an (sometimes overly) attentive staff. If you know the Santa Fe restaurant scene, Cafe Fina is almost an exact combination of local favorites -Tune Up and Vinaigrette - but lacks bustle, atmosphere and drinks. Located on Old Las Vegas Highway near Santa Fe's distant suburb, El Dorado, Cafe Fina is a trek to get to unless you live in El Dorado. Once there, the cafe is bright, clean, with sleek and modern-ish wood top tables and chairs. The menu is fairly standard: salads, soups, sandwiches and the usual New Mexican brunch fare: migas, huevos motulenos, omelets with pies and pastry. It really feels like a watery reflection of local Vinaigrette but desperately needs to apply for a beer and wine license. The chef and owner seem to have put a lot of integrity into the project. More people would come and profits would rise if guests could have a glass of bubbly with brunch, or reisling with their burrito or soup or beer or red wine with their burger. Also, Cafe Fina needs to decide weather it wants to continue the "order at the counter and have food delivered to table" method or go with waiter service. The former, which is their current method, cuts their costs on wait staff, the latter allows for waiters to form a relationship with their guests and encourage adding more items to their ticket: "Another glass of wine?....side of green chili .....?" They are on the right track but need to act fast with these changes as Santa Fe chews and spits out mediocre restaurants without blinking an eye.

Chicken Sandwich on the lunch menu was the BEST EVER. And I've had my share of chicken sandwiches, I might add. Everyone we ate with loved their meal. They have a pet friendly back porch, too...which was nice for us, traveling with 2 dogs!

Nice retired locals kind of place and the food was very tasty. It was on the pricy side but it is a bit out if the way if you are coming from Santa Fe. I was already out in Eldorado on my way back to town and needed to eat. Good coffee as well. I'd go back if I'm in the area.

Thank you Yelp. We arrived in the Santa Fe area today to spend a couple of weeks. First went to Yelp looking for lunch. This restaurant was truly superb for its type. We had avocado gazpacho, quiche, and some type of a chicken sandwich and fries. It was all excellent. This restaurant has a lot of organic and local ingredients. I'm sure we'll return two or three times while we're here. Looking forward to trying breakfast.

Slow service, disorganized. Food delivery slow. Food was quite good but not what I ordered. Not enough staff. Couldn't get anyone to refill coffee even when I got up to get it myself. Nearby table customers got wrong order. Cashier didn't listen to order had to give it twice. Cost more than expected about $26 for two. Too many chives in both meals - omlette / breakfast burrito. Staff kept cutting in front of me while I waited in line , as path to kitchen not organized. I loved the Apple iPads at register. Staff had a hard time finding you after order, A numbering system like fuddruckers should be used. Coffee was good. Customers complaining about slow service. This restaurant has potential but needs more trained staff and better organized wait area and better method to locate customers for food delivery.

This place is my go-to local spot. Great fish sandwich. They could stand to go a little heavier on the tartar sauce, which is super good. Both huevos options are delicious, refills on iced coffee, good fries usually. Occasionally there are some minor issues with consistency, but it's Santa Fe, what can you really expect. In their favor is the fact that they have fixed nearly everything that made Real Food Nation suck and fail. The service is really good, the staff is friendly and efficient, the owners are nice folks. There is no kiddy play room full of screaming children in the dining room. The decor is really pretty tasteful (for Santa Fe); it finally matches the architecture. All in all great local joint in an area with few options.

  • Russ I.

Quick, friendly service. The southwest salad with grilled chicken was delicious. If I was going to nitpick a bit, I'd say the amount of chicken in the salad should be a little larger, or the price should be a little smaller. Otherwise I would have given five stars. Will be back!
